Jumpman
I came across this game when I was searching for another game that had some similar gameplay mechanics ie. jumping around the screen collecting stuff. This wasn’t what I was looking for though but decided to include it on the site anyway.
The title jumpman sums up the game perfectly, you are a guy jumping around on ladders and platforms collecting these dots (don’t know what they are). Each level adds more challenges like robots running around and bombs falling from the ceiling. If you stand around for too long a bullet will be fired in your general direction trying to kill you. If you are hit by an object or fall from too high a distance and you loose one life. Sometimes when you are walking from a stair the game gets it wrong and you fall down and die as well. Collect all dots and you advance a level it’s as simple as that.
If this sounds rather limited remember that this game is now over 20 years old but even at that time it was critizied for having simplistic gameplay and did not offer anything new. So unless you have some good memories playing this game you probably won’t like it.
Overal rating: 3/10
This game was released for three different systems here are some notes:
Apple | Released in 1983. The same as the C64 version. |
C64 | Released in 1983. Game has been tested but not completed with CCS64 V2.0 win. The original version, if you are going to play this game I’d recommend this one. |
DOS | Released in 1984. Game has been tested but not completed on a 486 PC. Despite the simple looks of the game it doesn’t run very fast on slow computers |
