- Tooth invaders -

When consoles and home computers were first released you were always restricted to software and games that the manufacturer released first as there weren't a lot of developers back then. Tooth invaders was released by Commodore themselves in 1982 at the time of the release of the Commodore 64 home computer. It was available on a tape or as a cardridge based game.

You are a man (apparently) who is tasked with cleaning teeth and standing in your way are nasty bugs spreading disease and caries. The tools available to you are a toothbrush, floss and toothpaste and you will have to use them in turn to save the teeth. At the start of the game the subject will have eight perfectly good teeth altough there are already a lot of germs spreading. You will need to floss between the teeth and then use your toothbrush with some paste to clean all the germs away, once a tooth is completely clean it will start flashing and you can go on to the next one. There are bugs spreading more germs though and you will have to watch teeth that are slowly changing color to black as then you will lose them. The only way to save them is to clean them as fast as possible but ofcourse you should not tangle with the bugs directly as you cannot protect yourself from them. The good thing is that a clean tooth will not be infected again until the next level.

Tooth invaders is probably one of the simplest game you can get on the Commodore 64 because it was released when the machine was released back in 1982. The character you control is literaly a stick figure and the rest of the graphics and sounds are minimalistic at best. Dispite that though I enjoyed the game when I first had a Commodore 64, the game didn't stand the test of time well though but it's still funny to play for a little bit and feel nostalgic about the old games.

Overal rating: 6/10

This game was released for two different systems here are some notes:
C64 Released in 1982.
VIC-20 Released in 1982.
This doesn't have the zoom in and out feature to grab the toothbrush and floss instead you can switch between them by pressing space. This also means you don't have to get toothpaste as well.
