- Who dares wins -

Sometimes you come across a game which is so similar to another that you wonder if it was really coincidence or of it was a mere copy. Who dares wins instantly reminded me of Commando and it plays almost exactly the same. You play a lone soldier and eight areas have been invaded by enemy soldiers, armed with only a rifle and a couple of grenades you set out to take back the lands.

The game is played from an overhead view and your lone warrior is setting against all odds, there are hundreds of enemies waiting for you and many have already dug themselves in for extra protection. You can get them with a wellplaced grenade, thrown by holding down the fire button, but you have a limited supply so you'll have to rely on your trusty rifle to get you out of most problems. There are many obstacles like trees and walls the enemies hind behind but you can and must do the same if you are to survive. Sometimes one of your captured buddies is quickly rushed away but a wellplaced shot will free him but make sure not to hit your friend instead. At the end of the level you will have to face a whole lot of baddies at once and sometimes even a vehicle or two.

I'm pretty sure commando was released in the arcades before this game was made and therefore it's gameplay is copied from that game. That doesn't mean the game is bad though as it's a very enjoyable shoot'em up. It's quite hard and there isn't a real ending as at the end of the eighth level you simply get a message that the other areas have been overrun with enemies once more. Still it's worthy of taking on for the challenge and fun so why not have a go.

Overal rating: 7.5/10
