- A view to a kill -

Great, another movie turned into a game, this time it's James Bond in a view to a kill. Max Zorin is the big baddie here as he's trying to destroy Sillicon Valley so he can dominate the microchip market. The game takes three scenes from the movie and lets you play them out, the car chase in Paris, the burning of city hall in San Francisco and the abandoned mine.

The first part is the the chase in Paris, it's start when Mayday parachutes of the top of the Eiffel tower and you are in a car trying to follow her around. It's difficult though with heavy traffic and Mayday can take random directions as she is in the air. If your car is damaged too much you cannot go on and will have to start again. This part is played from a topdown view but there is also a 3D view from inside your car.
The second part is when Max Zorin sets fire to city hall and tries to frame James in the process, you'll have to find Stacey and get out before the fire gets out of control. It won't be easy though and you have to collect items that you will need to complete this level. This level reminds me of the infiltrator as you directly control james walking around the building.
The third part is in an abandoned mine in which bombs are placed, if you are too late the bombs will go off and flood Silicon Valley and allow Max Zorin to complete his diabolic plans. Gameplay reminds me a bit of impossible mission as you jump around the mine looking for objects and ultimately the nuclear bomb which you have to defuse.

Well there have been very few movie-games that have been good in all these years as you just can't capture the feel of a movie in just a few levels. It doesn't really help that there are only three levels in all and there are many bugs which make gameplay annoying at some times like when you get stuck against another car in the chase it will completely wear down your healthbar and you can't do anything about it. A good point is that you can actually play each level without completing the others but if you complete one you will get a code which will allow you to complete the next level more easy. If you're a fan of the movie you might want to try it but I don't think others will have much fun with it.

For some ridiculous and unknown reason the levels in this game are reversed in order.
C64 Released in 1985.
At least this is the best version but that's not saying a lot.
ZX Spectrum Released in 1985.
