- High noon -

In the earliest days of computer and videogames you didn't need an elaborate plot or fancy graphics to reel in the players, it was all a simple you shoot them or you collect this type of game. High noon is just such a game and the point of it is real simple, you are the sheriff of the local town and you must shoot all the bandits before they shoot you or rob the bank. The only other person who can be seen during the shootouts is the undertaker as he is the only one who can profit from all this shooting.

The game starts with you standing at the center of town and you'll quickly find that badguys are pouring in from all directions. Some will take a couple of shots at you and try to rob the bank but others will come at you until either you or they are shot. Be carefull because one shot is all it takes to go down and you'll find yourself being dragged away by the undertaker. The aim is simple and all the baddies have to be shot before you can end the level at which point you are challenged to a draw by their leader, win and continue, lose and end up three feet under.

This is exactly the type of game you'd expect from the early/mid eighties when games were still at their infancy. The graphics are very simple and it has gameplay to match, the addition of the undertaker dragging away all the bodies is a nice touch though. There is a tune at the start of the game which is quite catchy and you won't forget that anytime soon. For those who remember this game it will bring back some memories and it's worth a go for old time sake. If only there were a two-player mode...
