- David's midnight magic -

David's midnight magic is one of the first computer games that I know of that does a reasonable job of simulation a pinball game. Modelled after the pinball game called black knight there are plenty of things that you also see in much later games. There is the upper part of the table where you can hit a circular spring to gain points and a few loops. The lower part has the regular side panels off which you can bounce to gain points and ofcourse the death drops which will make the ball drop out of the game. Both upper and lower parts have their own set of flipper which you can control. The entire table fits onto one screen so the game is basically a one screen game. It also allows you to play with up to four players but each will have to wait his or her turn.

There have been plenty of pinball games over the years but this is definately the first one I ever played other than an actuall pinball machine. The game is a fairly good simulation actually offering you the opportunity to push the machine to make the ball go that tiny distance you want it to. Ofcourse when you push the table too much it will TILT just like an actuall pinball, it would have been cool if the screen moved a bit when you push the table but it unfortunately it doesn't. New pinball games are far more advanced in physics and options as well as graphics but that doesn't mean this pinball game is bad it's just that time has caught up with it. Now reaching almost 25 years in age this game was and is still a landmark in computer game pinball and worthy of checking out.

Overal rating: 7/10
