- Hostages -

Hostages is an action game in which you control a SWAT team that has to liberate an embassy that has been taken over by terrorists. The missions have several parts in which you must first place you men around the embassy, enter it and then take out the badguys. You can choose from three different difficulty levels and five different hostage scenarios.

The first part of your mission will be to place your snipers in proper places around the building so you must control each of the three snipers and walk along the walls to get there. The terrorists have put up searchlights so you have to be carefull not to get too close to them or they will shoot at you. You can hide inside some buildings if the lights get too close but don't wait too long as there is a timelimit here. If you are able to place all three members into their correct positions then you can start the next phase which is to get the men which have dropped onto the roof of the building inside. You can rapel off the wall into windows and if there are any terrorists standing near the window you can take them out first with one of your snipers. Once you get one of your men inside you can take out the terrorists but be carefull as there is no telling of how many there are.

Hostages is not an exceptional game but the fact that there are several different types of gameplay and the speed of the game make it fun to play. The difficulty levels don't change much of the game but add more searchlights and enemies to blast so if you have completed several runs it will lose some of it's appeal. However it is by no means easy to complete and there is definately some fun to be had so check the game out.

Game has been tested but not completed with winUAE v0.9.91.
This is the original and best version IMO.
BBC Micro Released in 1989.
Game has been tested but not completed with BeebEm v2.0.
The use of colors is amazing -_- , but this is mostly an issue with the system itself. Gameplay is all here though.
C64 Released in 1989.
Game has been tested but not completed with CCS64 v2.0 win.
The game plays somewhat slow on this one but otherwise it's all here.
DOS Released in 1989.
Game has been tested but not completed on a DOS and Win2k PC.
Works ok under windows but has some graphic issues on my system. If the game asks you to insert the second disk just press SPACE.
NES Released in 1989.
Game has been tested but not completed with FCE ultra v0.98.12.
As usual the NES version has very different graphics but gameplay remains mostly intact.

The monochrome graphics make it diffult sometimes to see things.
Others These versions are not available.
