- Xiom -

Ah now this is something of a departure, back when the C64 was released there were a lot of game that were made by only two or three people and sometimes just one. Now Xiom looks like it was made by a fairly small team but the difference being that is was released in 1996! It's a puzzle game where you use a ball to color in the field by jumping on top of the playing field. The field is filled with two colored tiles and the aim is to get all the tiles to a single color. This is easier said than done though because the tiles are laid out in patterns and if you jump on the wrong one you might have to do a whole lot of work to get it back to the right one again. As each level progresses the patterns will get more difficult and even though you will get more time to complete them it won't be easy. If you complete a level you will also get a password so you can start at that level the next time you play.

Xiom is quite an odd one as it was released so in 1996 and it might have been made for a magazine but I am not sure about this. The game feels like a classic C64 puzzle game with little in the way of graphics but that is not the most important thing about games in my eyes. There are plenty of levels for you to figure out (about 50) so if you like puzzle games then give this one a go. BTW there is a trainer but it seems to mess up the game so don't use it.

Overal rating: 7/10
