- Yoghi's great escape -

Long ago when games were first released many games were very simple and did not have much in the way of a story. Many movies and series were also converted in the hopes of cashing in on the popularity and the most common type of game was a platform game, Yoghi's great escape is such a game.

You play Yoghi the bear and you jump and run across levels filled with platforms and obstacles. Yoghi loves getting his hands on people's picknick baskets so there are lots of them for you to find and pick up which will give you points. If you happen to run across a pesky critter or you make a bad jump and fall down a tree you'll lose one of your lives but luckily if you get enough points you will get an extra life.

If what I described here sounds a little dull and plain that is because the game is just that, it is a basic platform game with little or no redeeming features. If you would replace the characters with something from another cartoon you could easily sell it as another game. Sadly though these types of game were pretty much crap when they were released 15 years ago and it's age has done nothing to better it. Shame on you Hanna-Barbera for releasing such a horrible excuse for a game!

Overal rating: 3/10

This game was released for several different systems here are some notes:
Amiga Released in 1990.
Game has been tested but not completed with winUAE v0.9.91.
ZX Spectrum Released in 1990.
Game has been tested but not completed with emuZwin v2.5.
I have to admit the monochroom graphics don't look half bad compared to the amiga but then that one isn't anything to write home about.
Others These versions were most likely released but I'm not sure.
Atari ST released in ?
C64 released in ?
