- Mr. Mephisto -

Mr. Mephisto is an action/puzzle game in which you guide a man into a place filled with demons. The object is to get the key that opens the door to the next level and go trough. There isn't a real back story as far as I know but then again in the olden days this wasn't much of an issue compared to today's games.

The title screen has quite an excellent tune and you a picture of a cinema that is currently showing Mr. Mephisto. Mephisto I believe is another name for the devil so that would account for al the demons running around the levels. When you start the game you see a large stair that keeps travelling downwards and you can see creatures that walk around on it. You have to get past them but as they move in random directions and you cannot defend yourself in any way and the slightest tough of an enemy will kill you so things can be fairly difficult. The main problem however is that your character cannot move very easily, instead of moving pixel by pixel he has to move with one step each time you walk so you will have to time your steps carefully to avoid creatures and falling of the stairs as well. Later levels will become bigger and more complicated with added traps keeping you on your toes.

Mr. Mephisto isn't a game that really stands out even for a game that was released over twenty year ago. Still I remember playing it quite often when I was young (that makes me sound so old damnit!) so there might be others around who also know of this game. Players unfamiliar with the game will probably not get much out of the game but have a shot at it anyway.
