- Wizard of Wor -

Altough I was looking for another game I came upon this one, wizard of wor is a simple shoot'em up that can be playing with two players. Each player will have to take out as many foul creatures that inhabit the mazelike dungeons that you are in. Every level the creatures will become more powerfull and once you clear the room of standard enemies you might have to face a bosslike foe, perhaps even the wizard of wor himself.

All the levels in the game look very similar and they remind me a a lot of pacman with the flat mazes and even the jump from left to right which only the badguys can use. You are armed with a single blaster with which you can shoot any enemies. Both movement and fireing can only be done horizontally or vertically but this was true of many games released early on, a simple case of hardware limits of the time. Both players will start on opposite ends at the bottom of the screen and your warrior will appear after you press the button or when a certain amount of time has elapsed.

Wizard of wor is typical of very early games as the games look terrible these days and the levels are mostly the same with only a smal variation in the enemies. In the tradition of the time the backstory is huge but you won't find most of it back in the game simply because of limitations. This game is only for those with true nostalgic feelings about it because I doubt it will appeal to many others.

Overal rating: 5/10
