- Tag team wrestling -

I really like wrestling (not the olympic kind) and I've been watching it for almost 20 years now so ofcourse I like to try wrestling games as well. Tag team wrestling as the title suggests is a game about wrestling tag team style. Each team has two wrestlers that have to take turns and the only way to get in is to get tagged by your partner. Ofcourse you can help them get out of a submission manouver like a headlock.

The oneplayer game always has you controlling the white team and a two player game allows both players to take on each other. There are no other teams other than these two and you will have to fight each other until you win all the championships there are or you lose. There are a variety of moves that you can perform on your opponent but each one is started by hitting you opponent in the head. If you get a hit then you can hold the button and rotate the joystick to select the moves like the bodyslam, headsmash or a dropkick. Each of the wrestlers has one move that is unique to them so it's fun to check out their moves. The submissions moves will be applied to your opponent until either he runs out of energy or when his friend comes to help him break the move. Occasionally you will be thrown out of the ring and you can even continue fighting but you will have to get back into the ring in twenty seconds or you will be counted out and lose.

This is probably the most basic tag wrestling game you can make with the minimal number of opponents and options. You can keep fighting to gain the Japanese, Benelux, European and world titles (I didn't get past that) but the only thing that changes is the trophy you see when you do your victory dance at the end of a succesfull match. It does get a bit boring but I found it quite fun and I have completed about 25 matches before I got too bored with it. For a quick fix of wrestling I can recommend this game just don't expect hours of fun with it.

This game was released for one system here are some notes:
C64 Released in 1984.
Game has been tested but not completed with CCS64 v2.0 win.
I wonder why I played this version so much when I was younger, it's quite boring actually beating the same opponent all the time.
NES Released in 1985.
Game has been tested but not completed with FCE ultra v0.98.12.
Graphics are quite different from the C64 one but gameplay is exactly the same.
Others This version is not available.
DOS released in 1986, from the pictures I've seen this looks the worst of the lot.
