- Eternam -

Eternam is an adventure game that stars you as secret agent Don Jons and you are sent to special resort called Eternam for a little relaxation. Unfortunately you find out quickly that the whole thing is a setup by your nemesis and now you have to survive while trying to get off the planet.

When you first arrive at the planet you are in a 3D view where you can travel around to the various places. While you are travelling you can encounter various creaturs which can deplete your energy and in fact it's quite easy to end the game in the first minute because of this. After you arrive at a location the scene switches to a 2D view much like traditional adventures, this is where most of the game takes place and the obvious puzzles have to be solved. The interface has several icons with which you can perform actions like pick up and talk but unfortunately you cannot use the mouse but instead you have to press the space bar and you have to select the icon with the cursor keys.

The graphics along with the rest of the game are a mixed bag, some graphics including the introduction uses digitized graphics, the adventuring parts have a standard 2D view like most other adventures, when talking to characters they have a cartoon view to them and the 3D travelling sequences which look the worst of the entire game. Add to this a point and click interface where you can't even use the mouse and it adds up to a pretty average game. The game doesn't do much for me so check it out for yourself what you think of it.

Overal rating: 5/10

This game was released for one system here are some notes:
DOS Released in 1992.
Game has been tested but not completed on a DOS and Win2k PC.
The 3D parts run too fast on most systems so you'll have to use a slowdown program.
