- Detroit -

Can you imagine life without cars? Well cars have been a part of life since the early 20th century and Detroit is a city where many of the early models came from. This game puts you in the position of an executive who is in control of an automobile company and your job is to design, manufacture and sell as many cars as possible.

You start the game in the year 1908 with $250.000 in cash and a basic car design, you can change it or you can go straight into production. If you decide to design a card there are plenty of options available to you and you can change the body, engine, brakes, color and even more options become available later in the game. After assembling a prototype you can test it using a variety of methods including a crash test dummy which I don't think were invented until much later. There's plenty of others things to do as you'll have to research new parts and open places where the cars are sold.

Detroit is fairly fun strategy game and altough it's not really historically accurate it doesn't really hurt the game. The fact that you can do many different things is a definate plus as it will keep you busy and the game won't get boring soon. The difficulty level is reasonably high and getting through later parts of the game can be challenging as you have to do constant research on new technology to stay ahead of the competition. It's doesn't get to the point of frustration however and you might even learn a bit about early cars. This is definately worth a go so check it out.
