- Persian gulf inferno, the -

It is the year 1990 and terrorists are threathening to use a nuclear device to blow up the worlds largest oil reserve and thus create a disaster. To make things worse the crew are being held captive throughout the rig. You fly out with a team of specialist to try and nutralize this treat but on the way you are shot down. You manage to survive and get to the rig with only a gun, ammo and some explosives and you set out to stop the terrorists.

The first thing you have to do is find some better weapons and ammo because you won't stand much of a chance in your current state. The oil rig is a large place with plenty of rooms for you to explore and some of them contain usefull items like guns and explosives. Some rooms contain hostages and altough the main objective is to find the bomb often the hostages will give you vital information or passcards needed to advance into the rig so be carefull to check all the rooms. Many of the rooms are locked and they can only be 'unlocked' by using some of your explosives, unfortunately they don't always contain anything special so it's a matter of chance really.

This would have been easy were it not that the rig is under control by a massive number of terrorists and often they will pop up from nowhere to take you under fire. These are religious fanatics and the only way to stop them is to blast them away because if you don't they will certainly do it to you. The rig itself is build like a maze with many levels some of which can only be accessed by a single ladder or elevator. To make matters worse the nuclear bomb has already been armed and you have only 1 hour to find and disarm it.

The Persian golf inferno doesn't have anything really to set it apart from most other games. The graphics are a only average with small characters and there are only a few screens other than the monotomy of the oil rig. The sound effects are quite good with excellent gunfire sounds and the terrorists scream Arabic while they come at you. I can't tell you what they say or even if it's proper Arabic because I don't speak it. I actually found out after playing the game that the bomb isn't too hard to find but it is guarded by many terrorist and you need a passcard to get to it. Once you know where to go you can easily finish the game within 10 minutes as the location of objects doesn't seem to change between games which is a shame really. Still before you are able to do this there is plenty for you to do and explore and the game lasted me longer than many others. If you're looking for a quick blast then you should check this game out.
